People who left today: Bob from my alcove, Alex and Sean from downstairs, Pat the Aggie, and Kristen. I’ll miss them all…
I studied till 3:30am in the 4th floor lounge with Kristen last night. I know I could have left earlier, but I really didn’t want to leave her there to study by herself all night. If I wasn’t there, she pretty well could have studied straight through until her exam at 8:30… which would have been quite ugly — I knew that an all-nighter was not a good idea.

This morning I woke up to my alarm set at around 8am, but I still fell back asleep. I knew I didn’t need to wake up too early.. Allan woke me up around 10:45 or so… he told me that Bob was getting ready to leave. After an hour or so of moving stuff to his Jeep Cherokee (red), Bob drove off, giving a quick farewell mostly to Graeme, one of his roommates. It’s a little awkward for guys to say bye…. so they just shook hands and joked around a bit.
Graeme’s room is now almost empty. Grant and Bob have both left and it’s just weird.
Kristen did really well on the exam! I’ve never seen anyone so confident after an exam! Good thing she went over all that material late last night. When Kristen finished her exam, we met up to go to the Distance Ed office to get our course materials… she’s taking 2 courses during the summer in addition to working and relaxing. We were waiting all week for a good time for both of us to go together; it ended up being on her last day. It didn’t take long so we grabbed something to eat at the UC afterwards. My exam was approaching at 2:30 and I didn’t have a care in the world…
Bio was….. OK. There were 55 multiple choice, 4 mandatory short answer sections, and 1 of 2 short answer pages. Although the MC was kind of easy, the short answer was brutal. There were terms there that I hadn’t seen ever before, or couldn’t remember from the beginning of the semester. But I’m just glad that it’s finished….

4 Exams finished, now just Chem on Monday.
I checked out Awesome House after the exam… Ben picked up Andrew, Trevor, and me. Turns out when we arrived at the place there was no one home… Turnbull had a key, so us 8 guys ventured throughout the house, finding it in a pretty bad condition. I have to admit, it is very very hard to want to live in a place that has been treated really badly by the current tenants. Some girl drove up, but she was totally hungover from drinking till 5AM because she was finished exams. She told us a bit about the house, but she wasn’t of great help… most of the rooms were locked up, the tub faucet doesn’t shut off, the place just quite decrepid (sp?).
Ben dropped me back off at Mountain Hall in time to see Kristen’s family just finish stuffing their rental van full of her stuff… That minivan was totally stuffed full…. like full full, haha. I guess she was right she did have a ton of stuff in her room. And the issue that needed to be dealt with was what to do with her mini fridge! Guess where the fridge is now!? She loaned it to me for the summer.
So we said our goodbyes - my was that long and drawn out… the way it needed to be. I’m gonna miss her… Kristen is undoubtedly one of the best friends I’ve made here at Guelph.

Also said well to Pat the Aggie…. or Farmer Pat. I hung out with him and Kristen a lot in the past while, we three studied together much and had lots of fun. He has a really nice white Chevy Silverado truck! He threw all his stuff in two big boxes in the back box, tossed his old Packard Bell in the passenger seat, and took off after a strong handshake.

Man, this is a long post…. for a long day. Jeremy, Mark, Graeme, Allan, and I went to Wimpy’s for a final dinner before Mark and Allan take off tomorrow.
Oh yeah… I moved my bed off the shelves back onto the ground now… and the shelves back up onto the brackets. Not a big deal, but a big change.
I’m realizing that sure, 1st year is ending, but this is not the end.
