Slowly learning

Wednesday, February 25th, 2004

I’m starting to sleep earlier! Last night was at about 12:30, and the night before around 12:15 I think. No more staying up late because that’s when it’s easy to be tempted into doing things I’ll regret, as well as the huge possibility of messing up the next day because I don’t have enough sleep. Need to make better use of all the free time I have during the day. Gotta go find some pictures of bees for Biology project and study some Economics… midterm tomorrow at 8:30 AM!! arg. please pray for me.

Five For Fighting

Monday, February 16th, 2004

There’s a band out there (I really don’t know how popular they are) called Five For Fighting, and right now I’m lovin’ their newest hit “100 Years”. ‘Twas on last week’s Smallville episode. John Ondrasik has a very interesting and admirable philosophy upon life revealed through this song.

Half time goes by

Suddenly you’re wise

Another blink of an eye

67 is gone

The sun is getting high

We’re moving on…

When you only got 100 years to live

I don’t think I live life cherishing every minute of it. That doesn’t necessarily mean that I go out and start doing crazy stuff all the time (although some of the time is suggested). It means I don’t waste time, I work when I should work, I play when I should play, and I worship the Lord ALL of the time.

You can check out the video or music here and the lyrics here. I’m intent on learning the piano, so the chords are here. However, it will be a bit harder to sing at that pitch (I can do it, just gotta work on it!).

The new way to play

Have you discovered webjamming? No, it’s not warjamming, which is surfing the net on other people’s wireless internet. Webjamming is playing music with someone else across the internet! JA!

Had a great time jamming worship songs and praying with Mike at 3AM. I borrowed a bass and plugged it into my computer, and he played through his mic. I must say, it was fun.

ARg.

Thursday, February 12th, 2004

Woke up at 7:30, went to my 8:30 class, then studied all day for my chem midterm at another residence, getting someone’s continual help…… I’m so thankful for her help.

How did I do? I think I might have failed. Although I know I wouldn’t have done nearly as well if I didn’t get help.

Then, I had a bio lab. Then, I had a volleyball game. Now, I want to sleep so I can study for my Geography MT tomorrow. Pray for me.

New Stuff?

Monday, February 9th, 2004

Man, I seriously haven’t posted for about a week now. So I decided it was time to give others something to read instead of reading others’ blogs all the time.

Firstly, I would like to wish the mang Mike Chen a happy birthday. He *apparently* has turned 20. My response is SURE…….. Who would believe you if you said you were born in the 1984????

(or I could say “man, that’s like two decades. I’m scary!”)

In honour, I’ll post 20 silasX heads:

‘Nuff of that. Since last post, I’ve been reading up on The Passion of the Christ which is coming out on Feb 25. It will be a mighty powerful movie, I look forward to it. Campus Crusade is going to rent a theater out Feb 26 and sell the tickets personally to friends and crusaders to pack the Galaxy in Guelph (wherever that is). I pray that that will be a great event in God’s will and that many will come to be saved through it.

Two midterms this week. Chem on Wednesday, Geography on Thursday. Do I hear “cram”? I hope not for Chem. For Geography that’s a bit more possible.

I also received a snail mail~! My older sister Clara sent me a letter encouraging me, as well as a $10 Shoppers Gift Card. I’ll have some fun finding ways to spend the bling at Shoppers. Thanks!

Slowly, and surely, I continue to discover how God is working around me and in the people around me. He’s working here in my res, breaking down barriers and hearts. I’ll just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail.
